Company Overview
The Joplin Police Department proudly serves a population of 46,000 citizens (swelling to approximately 210,000 on any given weekday) within a 35 square mile area with 97 sworn officers and 11 civilian employees.
The Department has four different Bureaus: Administration, composed of the Office of the Chief of Police and the Professional Standards Unit; Investigations, which investigates all felony crimes and includes Narcotics Unit, devoted to the fight against methamphetamine; the Patrol Bureau, which includes the Traffic Team; and Support Services, which is responsible for maintaining, storing and providing copies of police reports to the public.
The motto of the Joplin Police Department, "Serving with Pride", is indicative of the department's vision to deliver high quality, professional police services to Joplin's citizens and visitors. The department's philosophy of providing high quality service by professionally trained police officers allows us to be proactive and offer a variety of services to our citizens.
