Position Summary:
SMWG is seeking a Monterey County Program Supervisor who is either fully licensed with the state of CA or is Licensed waived.

The Monterey County Program Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the Mobile Crisis Team (15-20 staff) in Monterey County. This includes collaborating with community partners like, Monterey County Behavioral Health (MCBH), Natividad Hospital, law enforcement offers, and more.

The Monterey County Program Supervisor will assist with training newly hired staff, provide assistance and advise staff that need assistance with client situations, collaborate with Monterey County and Salinas County and assisting with any other functions or processes associated with the continuous function of the team and/or program.

Major Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Central Regional Manager and Human Resources Department to facilitate the screening, interviewing, and hiring of all approved MCT positions.
  • Conduct and coordinate the training and travel of the mobile crisis team when dispatched out to a call.
  • Oversee and manage the administrative support staff in all recordkeeping practices to ensure accurate documentation exists for needed facility certificates and staff training.
  • Act as onsite liaison between Monterey County and Sierra Mental Wellness Group.
  • Manage and oversee the organization’s internal facility infrastructure by coordinating maintenance and other needed facility systems.
  • Work closely with the Central Regional Manager on the implementation of policies and procedures for the Monterey County Program Supervisor create and maintain on site Standard Operation Procedures (SOP).
  • Manage the staffing patterns for the MCT to ensure proper support and coverage for all shifts.
  • Complete administrative functions such as reviewing and completing timecards, coaching and providing documented feedback to staff members, etc.
  • Become a subject matter expert (SME) on all Sierra Mental Wellness Group policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • Master's degree in social work, counseling, psychology, marriage and family counseling, or a related behavioral science field preferred. At minimum a master's degree with related experience.
  • Must be either licensed or licensed waived, and registered with BBS.
  • At least three (2) years’ experience in a human service agency.
  • At least two (2) years’ experience in management of personnel.
  • Demonstrated familiarity with clinical treatment approaches, basic skills in staff supervision, and work distribution in a counseling agency.
  • Previous experience providing crisis services is preferred.
  • Previous experience with the initial startup of a program and with managing teams of 10/more is a plus is preferred.

Essential Physical and Mental Functions:

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to delegate tasks, set priorities, and ensure the productivity of the team.
  • Ability to hold staff accountable and assign work to staff appropriately, work collaboratively with others.
  • Proven leadership abilities, including the effective delegation of responsibilities.
  • Strong collaboration skills, fostering positive working relations both internally and externally.
  • Diligent monitoring of program policies and rules, ensuring continuous compliance.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients, staff, and the public.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and the flexibility to travel between program sites and community meeting locations.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Outlook and Excel.
  • Proficiency in using standard office equipment, including computers, copier/fax machine, and telephone.
