Location: COMNAVSURFLANT (CNSL), Naval Base, Norfolk, VA
Are you a sharp-minded Security Administrative Support who has a strong grasp of compliance and program management? If you're ready to take on a new challenge supporting the U.S. Navy, we are looking for a Security Administrative Support who's eager to utilize process-minded skills to ensure Navy personnel access controls.
Position Description: The Security Administrative Support is responsible for scheduling and conducting access control authorizations for naval personnel in support of the Department of the Navy (DON) security and clearance program.
Tasks/activities include, but are not limited to:
- Coordinates with the CNSL Command Security Manager to conduct scheduled and non-scheduled reviews of security clearance and access control authorizations for headquarters and subordinate command personnel
- Provides clearance and access control auditing services in support of DON Information Systems Personnel Security requirements
- Develops and maintains processes for access control auditing
- Ensures all documentation is maintained in accordance with Secretary of the Navy (SECNAV) 5239.3 Series, DON Information Assurance Policy
- Coordinates with other teams to ensure compliance with security requirements
Compensation & Benefits: The annual projected pay range for this position is $41,235 - $49,209 with consideration being given to various factors including but not limited to qualifications, experience, job responsibilities, and geographic location.

Requirements
Minimum/General Experience: 5 years of experience working with Navy personnel security systems and Navy databases; 2 years as a qualified Facility Security Officer (FSO)
Minimum Education: High School diploma
Essential Skills/Qualifications:
- Above average experience working with Navy personnel security systems and Navy databases
- Above average experience with Microsoft Office 365 (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Excellent understanding of FSO protocols and compliance
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail skills
- Ability to establish and maintain positive interpersonal relationships
- Ability to collaborate and problem-solve in a team environment
- Experience with Navy administrative programs, personnel instructions, and correspondence (preferred)
General Physical Requirements needed to perform the essential functions of this job may vary based on the location of the assignment.
- Assignment Location - COMNAVSURFLANT (CNSL), Naval Base, Norfolk, VA; Consists of travel up to a 50-mile radius.
- Sedentary Work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
- Typing, communicating, repetitive motions.
- Close visual acuity to prepare and analyze data, view computer monitors and read. May need to view presentation screens and other visual aids in a virtual setting.
- Inside environmental conditions with protection from outside elements.
Security: Must have an active Secret security clearance to be considered; Ability to maintain a DoD Clearance
- U.S. Citizenship
DoD Clearance Consists of a review of up to but not limited to:
- Covers 10 year period and in some instances lifetime events
- OPM Security Investigations Index (SII)
- DOD Defense Central Investigations Index (DCII)
- National Agency Check (NAC) records
- FBI name check
- FBI fingerprint check
- Credit report check
- A check of local law enforcement agencies with jurisdiction over the areas where the applicant has lived, worked, or attended school
- Education check- Attendance and Degrees
- Employment verification -may include interviews of supervisors and/or co-workers
- Corroboration of unemployment
- May include reference interviews
- May include interviews of the individual, former spouse (s)
- Confirmation of all residences
- Verification of public record information
