JOB SUMMARY
The Mission Analyst serves as the critical source of analytical intelligence necessary for the successful planning, execution, and review of proactive law enforcement operations and high-risk events. Focusing on mission planning and operational support, the Analyst will proactively collect, analyze, and disseminate critical intelligence regarding trends, patterns, and hotspots of drug smuggling, human trafficking, and other violent criminal activities. Through the application of advanced statistical and link analysis, the analyst is responsible for optimizing resource deployment and enhancing enforcement strategies. This includes providing sophisticated analytical insights to guide the deployment of Pasco Sheriff's Office (PSO) deputies and resources for Operation Stonegarden and other Special Operations for the PSO, ensuring focused, efficient, and effective interdiction of illicit activities. The Mission Analyst will strengthen interagency collaboration by cultivating robust data-sharing protocols and communication channels with key federal partners, including the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). This role produces actionable tactical intelligence products, including detailed operational briefs, threat assessments, and geospatial analysis, that are essential for briefing field personnel, prioritizing community problems, and guiding on-the-ground decision-making while maintaining strict regulatory compliance. This position is funded by a grant. In the event grant funding ends, the position may be eliminated. EOE/ADA
Requirements
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION/LICENSES
Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice or a related field from an accredited college or university required. A specialization or expertise in mission planning and a minimum of two (2) years of experience in law enforcement or military intelligence collection and analysis from a recognized law enforcement/military intelligence operation or Fusion Center, or related academic research outside of the normal academic requirements or course work preferred. High school diploma and four (4) years relevant experience, including FDLE Law Enforcement Analyst Certification or related military or federal law enforcement training may be accepted in lieu of degree. Mid-Strong background in Microsoft Office Excel and Power-Point (testing will be conducted for both). Experience working in ArcGis/Geospatial software preferred. Unescorted CJIS clearance as authorized by FDLE is required. Must maintain a valid Florida Driver’s License at all times.
