Location: COMNAVSURFLANT (CNSL), Naval Base, Norfolk, VA
Are you skilled in Combat Systems and ready to make an impact on fleet-wide readiness? We're seeking a Combat Systems Officer Support to coordinate across key stakeholders and provide insights that help strengthen the U.S. Navy.
Position Description: The Combat Systems Officer Support ensures readiness by facilitating coordination, assisting with assessments, and providing routine reporting and briefing support to leadership.
Tasks/activities include, but are not limited to:
- Performs daily monitoring of readiness of Surface Navy combatants BMD, AW, IAMD, BFTT & ATD, STW and SUW systems and issues through official message traffic, email correspondence, verbal tasking, or other communication means, and provide findings to Force Combat Systems Officer (F-CSO) and staff
- Performs assessments of policy changes for impact on Fleet stakeholders while providing feedback on the suggested changes
- Provides regular departmental formal briefing updates regarding shipboard Combat Systems matters that impact manning, and equipping COMNAVSURFLANT surface combatants.
- Coordinates Combat Systems capability requirements with United States Fleet Forces Command (USFFC), Missile Defense Agency (MDA), Program Executive Officer for Integrated Warfare Systems (PEO-IWS), Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) command and Fleet commanders deploying CNSL surface combatants
- Coordinates with Carrier Strike Group Four (CSG-4) and Afloat Training Group Atlantic (ATG) on all aspects of AW, BMD, IAMD, BFTT, ATD, STW, and SUW equipment with respect to integration, certification, evaluation, and operation of equipment
- Exercises installed shipboard training equipment to include Live Virtual Construct and integrated combat systems training scenario development and execution.
- Coordinates with PEO-IWS on all aspects of Integrated Combat Systems (ICS) capability development of experimental equipment and projects during all phases of design, development, testing, and fielding
- Coordinates with Regional Maintenance Centers (RMC) and In Service Agent (ISEA) on all critical aspects of Combat
- Systems operations to include logistics assistance to forward deployed sources from Continental United States (CONUS)
- Coordinates with Fleet Directors, Surface Mine and Warfare Development Center, Afloat Training Group and subordinate commands to develop standardized warfare area tactics, techniques and procedures, doctrine, training, and programs
- Attends teleconferences, video teleconferences (VTCs), and internal and external meetings in lieu of or in F-CSO and staff
- Documents meeting minutes and prepare any necessary visual aids to support meeting requirements
Compensation & Benefits: The annual projected pay range for this position is $117,413.00 - $140,315.00 0 with consideration being given to various factors including but not limited to qualifications, experience, job responsibilities, and geographic location.

Requirements
Minimum/General Experience: 10 years of experience in Navy Air Warfare (AW), Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD), Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD), Surface Warfare (SUW), Strike Warfare (STW), and Embedded Training Systems (ETS), to include training and certification processes.
Minimum Education: High School diploma
Essential Skills/Qualifications:
- Excellent ability to make readiness determinations, equipment status reports, training reports, and fleet metrics to make recommendations to leadership
- Excellent ability to coordinate across multiple commands and stakeholders to support readiness and operational decisions
- Excellent experience reviewing policy changes and identifying potential impacts
- Above average experience providing formal briefings and updates to leadership
- Above average experience supporting meeting requirements (e.g., meetings minutes, presentation materials, visual aids)
- Ability to assist with Combat Systems logistics and maintenance coordination
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail skills
- Ability to establish and maintain positive interpersonal relationships
- Ability to collaborate and problem-solve in a team environment
- Experience as a Combat Systems Maintenance Manager (CSMM), Ship's Test Officer (STO) or equivalent (preferred)
General Physical Requirements needed to perform the essential functions of this job may vary based on the location of the assignment.
- Assignment Location - COMNAVSURFLANT (CNSL), Naval Base, Norfolk, VA; Consists of travel up to a 50-mile radius.
- Sedentary Work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
- Typing, communicating, repetitive motions.
- Close visual acuity to prepare and analyze data, view computer monitors and read. May need to view presentation screens and other visual aids in a virtual setting.
- Inside environmental conditions with protection from outside elements.
Security: Must have an active Secret security clearance to be considered; Ability to maintain a DoD Clearance
- U.S. Citizenship
